It’s that time of year again, where dare I say it we’re thinking ahead to Christmas! I thought what better way to kick things off, then by sharing some of the fun we had at last years festive wreath workshops!
The studio was full of beatiful seasonal foliages from GB foliage and decorative ingredients for attendees to choose from. The smell was amazing! There was of course Spruce (would it even be a festive wreath workshop without it?!). Along with Berried Ivy, Parvi, Rosemary, Eucalyptus Populus and Mimosa. Decorative elements included Heather grown right here in Cornwall. Teasels along with dried Poppy seed heads, Wax Flower, Brunia, Berries and dried Hydrangeas.
This is the demo wreath I created, I particulary love the wispy twigs! They add lovely movement to the design and finish it off perfectly. As well as the hanging dusky pink velvet ribbon. Brilliantly modelled by my husband too I might add!
All the making in action! Creating a wreath does get rather messy as you can see, although isn’t that all part of the fun?! No festive wreath workshop would be complete without a festive tipple either. The ladies enjoyed a glass of mulled wine whilst they created their wreath.
Chloe’s wild inspred wreath isn’t it a beauty! I adore the pink peppercorns she added and the dusky pink ribbon proved to be popular too!
Louisa’s stunning creation! I especially love the use of the dried hydrangea which she paired with the skimmia. The burgundy velvet ribbon compliements the colours perfectly too.
The ladies all did a supberb job! I adore how each wreath looks so different and unique to the indivdual person despite using some of the same materials. It’s one of the wonderful things about working with flowers that has always fascinated me.
In amongst our festive wreath workshops customers commissioned me to create some bespoke wreath designs too. Each one unique and natural as the creative possibilities are endless.
Happy wreathers with their beautiful creations! Envious neighbours too I’m sure and what better way to get into the festive spirit?
