On the blog today I am very excited to post the eagerly anticipated wedding of Vicky and Nick Freds who were married on the 3rd of August this year at Salomons in Tunbridge Wells (and I think you will agree it is worth waiting for…).
Vicky and Nick had been together for 14 years when Nick proposed to Vicky just before going out for a romantic meal in Havana whilst having a relaxing break away last year. When planning for their big day they had decided that they liked the current wedding trend of all things vintage, and Vicky said she wanted to incorporate the style but with an elegant twist as well, so I guess you could say that the style for their wedding day was Vintage Elegance!
When I met with Vicky for her consultation she said how she liked the idea of having soft pastel coloured flowers, particularly for the bridesmaids who would be wearing dusty pink coloured dresses, but she wanted her bouquet to be slightly different, still incorporating the pastel colour pallet but with very neutral tones of cream and just a hint of pink. To tie in the vintage theme I made the suggestion about maybe having a vintage style brooch attached to the ribbon of her bouquet and Vicky loved this idea.
Vicky’s Bridal Bouquet was made up of Cream Avalanche Roses, Sweet Avalanche Roses, Light Pink Astilbe and Majolica Spray Roses. As I always when possible like to include a scented flower in the bride and bridesmaids bouquets, so they each have something nice to smell whilst holding their flowers throughout the day, and in Vicky’s bouquet the scented flower was the Majolica Spray Roses.
Vicky’s diamante vintage brooch which I sourced specially from an antiques shop in Otford.
The bridesmaid bouquets were made up of lilac Ocean Song Roses, Sweet Avalanche Roses and for their scented flower they had white sweet peas which smelt heavenly. Each bouquet was finished with Ivory coloured satin ribbon to match Vicky’s bouquet and fastened with pearl pins.
Gorgeous bride Vicky and her six beautiful bridesmaids, holding their bouquets.
Vicky wanted Nicks button-hole to match her bouquet and the other button holes to match the bridesmaids bouquets so that they were all colour coordinated.
The grooms button-hole was made up of one Cream Avalanche Rose, Pink Astilbe and finished with Ivory satin ribbon and a pearl pin.
The best man and usher button holes were made up of one lilac Ocean Song Rose and flowering mint which smelt lovely and fresh. Each button-hole was finished with Ivory satin ribbon and a pearl pin.
The arrangement for the Gold Room at Salomons where Vicky and Nick hosted their champagne reception fitted perfectly on the mantle piece. Continuing with the pastel colour pallet the design was made up of pink Hydrangea, Ocean Song Roses, Cream Avalanche Roses and White Campanula.
Vicky hired our large white Shabby Chic wooden Heart to have on her sweet table, which was located in the conservatory at Salomons and it was in there that she also had her beautiful hand painted cake on display.
The flowers used for the heart design were an eclectic mix of all the different flowers used throughout the whole wedding which included; Avalanche Roses, Hydrangea, Astilbe and flowering Mint.
Stunning bride Vicky, bursting with happiness.
I just LOVE this fun photo of Vicky and her bridesmaids standing next to the vintage blue camper van. The girls all looking very happy with big smiles.
I saw Vicky a short time after her and Nick had got back from their honey moon as I needed to collect some bits from her. When I asked her about the wedding she replied saying “It really was the best day of my life!” Aww I am so glad and it was so lovely to hear that all the planning and organisation had been well worth it.
Many congratulations to Mr and Mrs Freds wishing you both lots of happiness together xxx
