Tom & Jess’s Cooling Castle Barn Wedding

Tom & Jess were the loveliest couple to work with it was an absolute pleasure creating their wedding flowers. This gorgeous pair married in July at Cooling Castle Barn in Kent and I am delighted to share with you today some of their photos. I caught up with them both recently & asked if they could share their wedding journey with us, over to Jess….

  • Tell us about your wedding day, was it everything you hoped it would be?
Our wedding day was everything & more. We had so much fun! We had a beautiful rustic & vintage inspired wedding & wanted all of our guests to be relaxed and fun with us. The best surprise of the day was seeing how stunning the flowers were!

  • What did you enjoy the most about planning your wedding?

We enjoyed planning pretty much all of it! In particular the smaller detailed bits and giving a personal touch to things like invites, favours and other details.

  • What parts of the planning process did you find the trickiest and why?

The trickiest parts were making sure the measurements of everything that we made or had ordered were correct for the venue. Also to make sure we got a good cut of dress for my beautiful bridesmaids so that they would feel comfortable and be able to eat their dinner and have a dance!

  • Was there any interesting information or advice that you picked up along the way that helped made planning your wedding that little bit easier?

Some good advice I got from my mum was to simply just enjoy planning the day and to make sure its about the two of us becoming Mr and Mrs Blanchard.

  • Did you delegate certain jobs to each other to be in charge of or did you plan everything jointly together?

Most of the planning we did together but the the things we did separately was Tom sorted out the budget and making sure that we had paid for everything on time.Whereas all the lovely pretty things were left to me 🙂

  • If you could go back & do it all again is there anything you would have done differently or not? Any wise words of wisdom you would like to share?

No we wouldn’t change anything but we would wish that it could have been a longer day as it goes so quick. I would just say to enjoy every moment possible and to have a wedding that represents the two of you don’t worry about other people’s opinions.

Thanks so much to Tom & Jess for sharing their special day on the blog, wishing you both lots of happiness together.
