Mediterranean wedding inspiration for your big day

We’re back from our California road trip & sadly as I look out of the window on this cold crisp morning I unfortunately was not successful in bringing the sunshine back with me! Alas we had a blast & I will be sharing a post at some point of all the wonderful things that caught my eye & inspired me along the way. Which leads me to this weeks inspiration boards, yep you guessed it they have been inspired by the Mediterranean design & architecture of  some of the gorgeous parts of California I was fortunate enough to visit. Two that spring to mind are San Diego and  Santa Barbra, located on the west coast. As you approach downtown Santa Barbara you instantly feel like you are entering a Spanish oasis, beautiful terracotta buildings with pine trees that line the streets and Bougainvillea in the most vibrant shade of fuchsia can be found growing everywhere.

I adore the mix of the soft peaches paired with the deeper shades of coral and blue I think they work really well together particularly with the Mediterranean theme too.

Using citrus trees in decorative pots as pictured above is a great way to incorporate the Mediterranean feel to your ceremony and these could then be moved to your reception venue too, or you could use olive trees & branches instead as these would also work. The ribbons tied to the chairs are another way of introducing hints of the colour pallet without it being overload & could also be used as the decor to mark the isles of your ceremony.

If you’re getting married in the UK would you consider having a Mediterranean inspired wedding? Or do you think it’s better suited to warmer clients in the same setting?

Would be interested to know your thoughts.

Joanne xx
