Jenny Packham Design Weekend at Blackburn Bridal Couture

Happy Friday lovely people! Today I wanted to share with you some beautiful blooms that we created for Blackburn Bridal Couture. The boutique who last week won ‘Best Independent Retailer’ at the You and Your Wedding Awards, (huge congratulations team BB!) is nestled in the  idyllic Blackheath Village, in South East London. Being a local gal (I live just a 15/20 minute drive away) I often visit Blackheath whenever I get a spare morning or afternoon, I love strolling around the boutiques and there are lots of wonderful cafe’s and bistros where you can stop for coffee and lunch. I guess what I am trying to say is you must visit if you have never been before.

The Blackburn boutique is just stunning and hosts an exquisite selection of designer gowns; Suzanne Neville, Claire Pettibone and Jenny Packham to name just a few  (I had serious swoon syndrome admiring them all).  Last weekend they hosted their Jenny Packham Design event (They have a Claire Pettibone event coming up in February take a look on their facebook page for more information and dates). I decided I wanted to deck the boutique out with arrangements spread around each room.

The arrangements had a natural wispy feel to them and Sama who works at the boutique mentioned that they would like a dramatic injection of colour, so I teamed light pale pinks, ivories and whites with deeper shades of burgundy. The gold vases and tea lights worked really well with the interiors of the boutique too.

The flowers I used for the designs were O’Hara roses which smell heavenly, Amnesia Roses, Tulips, Ranunculus, Clematis, Hellebore, Kangaroo’s Paw, Stocks and  Astrantia.

I filled a mixture of glass vases with single stems and scattered blooms which were placed on the accessories table and shelves.

For the front counter I created a larger urn vase arrangement, I filled the vase with reindeer moss to cover the stems and for added interest to the design. The design was wispy and wild, made up of Stocks, Roses, Hellebore, Astrantia and Tulips.

The hand tied bridal bouquet was made up of Amaryllis, Tulips, Roses, Astrantia, and Clematis. This was particularly loved and that brides to be were holding it up against the dresses to get an idea of what the flowers would look like.

I thoroughly enjoyed flowering the Blackburn boutique, the Jenny Packham weekend was a great success and I’m looking forward to working with Mandi, Russel and the rest of the BB team again in the future. Ladies if you are still looking for your dream dress, you know where to go!

Have a great weekend

Joanne xx
