Blush blooms for an Intimate London Wedding

In today’s post I am sharing with you some of my tips on how to start your own wedding and event floristry business. Starting with the first fundemental question you need to ask yourself.

Last September I had the pleasure of creating these beautiful blush blooms for an intimate London wedding. In the most spectacular church! Isobel and George, had changed their wedding date four times (the locaction and venue too) due to the pandemic. Like the vast majority of other engaged couples in the UK. Determined not to wait any longer they decided to scale back on guest numbers in line with goverment guidelines. However small certainly does not mean any less beautiful. As they proved looking at these gorgeous photos from their special day by Maja Solo Photography.

The original date for the wedding was meant to be 6th of October 2020 . However following the priministers annoucement about wedding guest attendees reducing to 15 from 30. Isobel called me and said we need to move the Wedding to this coming Saturday! That was on the Tuesday giving me just three days to source, order, create and install the flowers! I would be lying if I was to say I didn’t feel a tad stressed by it all. Particularly ordering the flowers which I would normally work out a week or two in advance. The situation definately pushed me out of my comfort zone. Nonetheless I feel really proud that I managed to pull it off and played a part in giving Isobel and George their dream wedding. Especially after all the disapointment & upset they had been through.

The Bridal Bouquet

Isobel wanted the flowers to have a soft romantic feel to them with blush blooms. We opted for a light colour pallet made up of white, nude, blush and dusky pink tones. Her bridal bouquet (pictured above) featured the seasons finest ingredients. Pale pink snowberries, one of my favourites in the early Autumn months. Beautiful garden roses which included two of my all time favourites Kiera and Cafe Latte. Along with British grown Cosmos, Japense Anemones and Achillea. Not forgtting those creme brulle phlox another personal favourite of mine. That soft pinky/peach Calendular adding that pop of interest too. Gorgeous silk ribbon from Little Acorn Silks. adorned the bridal bouquets finishing them off perfectly.

The soft pinky blush tones from the flowers and the light grey foliages compliment the sage green bridesaids dresses completely. I’m a sucker for a close up shot of all the bouquets together too!

Isobel arrived at the church in her Dads vintage car which matched the bridesmaids dresses perfectly! Something that she said was a happy coincidence!

Ceremony Details

Isobel & George got married at St John’s Hyde Park one of the most stunning churches I have ever seen. Light and airy with ornate arches and window details, it is breathtaking! Within the church pew end posies lined the aisle. At the altar two large stone focal urn arrangements were placed on plinths. A long and low meadow design featured in front of the table. This created a focal point where they stood and said their vows. The designs were made of beautiful Garden Roses and British grown Cafe Latte Dahlias which were huge! British Annabel Hydrangeas and Japanese Anemones which added a delicate wispy effect to the arrangements.

Isobel’s Dress

Designed by Jesus Peiro, The Pearl Anniversary dress was created especially for Miss Bush Bridal. To celebrate their 30th birthday. Elegant, regal and romantic Isobel looks absolutely stunning in it! I particuarly adore the low back with the full length sleeves and of course those delicate pearl embellishment details.

After their ceremony they headed to the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall for their reception where they enjoyed a delicious sit down meal.

Wishing Isobel and George all the happiness for the future. If they can manage to get through planning a wedding during a global pandemic AND have the most magical day I’m pretty sure they will be able to handle anything as a married couple.

Have you been thinking about having an intimate wedding? Hopefully today’s blush blooms post has given you inspiration for your special day.
