Marsala Pantone Colour of the Year 2015

In today’s post I am sharing with you some of my tips on how to start your own wedding and event floristry business. Starting with the first fundemental question you need to ask yourself.

This weeks inspiration boards are all about Marsala Pantone colour of the year 2015. I know I might seem a little slow off the mark blogging about this, but I promise I’m not. It has been on my schedule since Christmas but other things have been cropping up (you know what it’s like) with this being my first opportunity. Personally I love marsala, it has such a warm rich tone but is also sexy and sultry at the same time. Described by Pantone themselves as ‘naturally robust and earthy red wine, marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls’.

Marsala is such a versatile colour too, you could mix it with other dark tones for a more masculine moody feel or with lighter nudes of light peaches and blush for a soft romantic take. In terms of flowers that are of the same or similar tone I would suggest Chocolate Cosmos, which believe it or not actually smells like chocolate too! Dahlia’s are also available in a gorgeous rich burgundy/marsala colour and during the Autumn months hydrangeas can be found in a ruby red two tone variety which is just beautiful!

Marsala could also be introduced through a number of other elements of your wedding day such as make up, stationary, cake and decor to name just a few! Are you a fan of marsala? Will you be using it as part of your big day, would love to hear your plans!
