Church Wedding in Surrey with Soft Autumnal Shades

In today’s post I am sharing with you some of my tips on how to start your own wedding and event floristry business. Starting with the first fundemental question you need to ask yourself.

On the blog today I’m sharing with you Emma & Ed’s gorgeous church wedding in Surrey with soft autumnal shades. I have missed blogging, I try to blog throughout the year as you know but at this time of year I have a bit more time to do it regularly. Last weekend we had our last wedding of the peak season run & what a season it has been! Spanning back to April, two weeks after I got back from my honeymoon to be precise! As you can imagine I’m looking forward to recharging my batteries over the next few weeks ready for all the action in December. Mind you I will still be kept busy with quotes and design briefs, venue visits and other behind the scenes projects that had been put on the back burner that I will finally get a chance to work on!

So back to September and Emma and Ed’s wedding. Their ceremony was held in the charming St Peters Church in Tandridge followed by their marquee reception which was held in the grounds of Emma’s parents farm house just 5 minute drive down the road. We flowered the church with a garland that framed them nicely whilst they exchanged their wedding vows and was made up of those stunning cafe au lait dahlias.

I absolutely adored their colour scheme made up of soft autumnal shades of golden yellows with hints of oranges paired with whites. It was the first time I had used the stunning Combo Rose (the golden coloured rose featured in the bridesmaids bouquets) and it has rapidly become one of my favourites from this year. It’s just such an unusual shade, I shall most definitely be using it more within future designs! Alongside these beauties the bouquets were made up of an array of different ingredients which included Caramel Antique Garden Roses, O’hara Roses (which smell amazing) Japanese anemone, flowering mint, blushing bride, snow berry and Orlaya. The bouquets were finished with Kate Cullen’s stunning silk hanging ribbons which compliment the colours so perfectly. How gorgeous does bride Emma look in her dress by La Sposa which she purchased from Emma Elizabeth in Twickenham and she then added the lace jacket from Sheila Harding. She just oozes elegance and Ed also looks very dapper in his blue tweed suit.

The table centres were made up of an eclectic mix of cut glass vase which suited the understated elegance of the day and all the other details such as the grey napkins, calligraphy place settings and sprigs of rosemary. Both having creative jobs, they done a fantastic job with all their styling and there was so much attention to detail too, it was a pleasure to be part of their special day.

Wishing Emma and Ed lots of happiness for the future. Are you having a church or civil ceremony? What colour pallet are you thinking for your wedding day? Would love to hear your plans!
