Earlier in the year we collaborated with an amazing team of wedding suppliers on our Glam Industrial mixed with Botanical wedding inspiration shoot which was held at the ultra chic Skyloft in London. With its exposed brickwork, retro wooden floors and stunning 360 degree views overlooking London, what is not to love?? To tie in with the botanic’s we incorporated foliage heavy arrangements that included soft trailing asparagus fern (one of my favourite foliages!). The Industrial element was introduced with the use of brass metallic and coppers which complimented the interiors of the venue perfectly.
As you know we are risk takers here at Joanne Truby Floral Design and like to create designs that are a bit unique, and of course with such an exciting brief from the shoot planner & stylist Andri (Always Andri) we could really sink our teeth into we decided to create a very modern and sleek floral ceremony arch. We constructed the arch using copper piping, yes you read correctly copper piping used by plumbers (I did say we liked to be different!) whilst planning the design thoughts did go round in my mind that this was either going to be a love or hate piece which did make me slightly nervous but sometimes you have to push the boundaries and thankfully it went down a storm (phew!).
We dressed the arch with foliage heavy natural arrangements & flowers in colours of whites, corals & burgundies, finished with trailing asparagus fern & hanging hellebore’s.
We are big fans of the hanging ribbon trend, long may it be here to stay! Don’t be afraid to mix colours and textures either I think it just adds to the design & gives a real luxe feel to bouquets. This natural oversized bouquet (another trend BIG bouquets) was made up of roses, ranunculus, hellebore, veronica and hypericum berries.
The gorgeous table scape was made up of a mixture of different sized metallic containers with textural grey table runner supplied by Table to Dine for the luxe grey tableware (seriously crushing on them dinner plates, I think they belong in my kitchen cupboard 😉 ).
How incredible is this 5 tiered cake too? Made by the super talented Ceri Olofson in keeping with the shoots style Ceri created different textures that had a marble & concrete look teamed with 24 carat gold leaf to finish the design with a luxurious edge.
