Truby floral design specialise in teaching floral design for flower workshops and creating stunning florals for weddings and events. Based in Sidcup on the borders of South East London we cover; Kent, Surrey, parts of Sussex, Essex and Central London. Our style is natural and organic yet abundant with our designs having a garden gathered romantic feel to them. We have a more personal approach to all our floral briefs, taking the time to find out more about our couples and clients and how they envisage their wedding or
event to create a cohesive design plan. For us it’s all about the design and details making sure those perfect finishing touches are incorporated to tie in with your overall look and feel seamlessly. From picking the perfect shade rose, sourcing specific props and containers to on the day styling, building bespoke frames and backdrops or creating hanging installations each of our briefs is approached in an innovative way that is unqiue to each of our couples and clients.
We like to see the flowers in person and make sure all the colours textures are on point with the particular brief we are working on and to allow us the flexibility to source other varieties that may catch our eye on the morning that we think would work perfectly.
We also like to do our bit to support British flowers where we can & during the Spring and Summer months will use a mix of different British blooms, some of which are sourced from our trusted supplier in Cornwall, along with seasonal delights sourced from local growers and scented garden roses grown in Hampshire.
It’s important for us to understand our couples and client’s personalities to allow us to create a floral design brief that fits them perfecly. We like to have an initial consultation (either over on the phone or in person depending on location) where we find out more about our couple’s and clients plans & how they envisage their wedding or event. From here we
then create your detailed design brief, including your online mood board and quote. We can also carry out venue recces (when necessary) to scout out the interiors & decide what designs would work best in the space. Gathering all the detailed information and taking any necessary measurements and photos.
Teaching floral design is also an important part of our business. We have the pleasure of teaching a variety of floral masterclasses throughout the year. Including one to one workshops that are completely tailor made to each person and what they would like to learn and create. Along with a variety of floral masterclasses for florists looking to advance their skills and learn new techniques. Then our seasonal masterclasses are for complete beginners that would like a fun and enjoyable afternoon learning a new skill. Being able to pass on our knowledge and expertise and help others is something as a floral design business we are hugely passionate about. Throughout the year we also have the privilege of collaborating with the renowned Jo Malone. Hosting floral masterclasses to celebrate the launch of their new scent collections. Each class based on a particular brief that encapsulates the esseence and mood created by the different scents, which is an absolute joy to be part of.
