Laura Jayne and Mikes Beautiful Fulham Palace Wedding

On the blog today we have the lovely wedding of Laura Jayne and Mike Wilton. They were child hood sweet hearts who met at school (on the first day to be exact) but they became an official couple when they were sixteen and have never looked back since! (aww sooo lovely) LJ went to a friends 21st Birthday party some years ago which was held at Fulham Palace and she just fell in love with the building! Her and Mike decided then that when their special day was to come Fulham Palace would be their dream wedding venue….

Fulham Palace was established way back in 704AD and is the historic home of the Bishops of London. Today visitors to Fulham Palace have a wealth of things to see and do from exploring the museum that charts the Palace’s eventful history to having lunch in the Drawing Room restaurant that looks out onto the beautiful gardens. As well as this Fulham Palace is today a sought-after venue for weddings, parties and corporate events.

LJ and Mike were married on Saturday 23rd June and their ceremony was held in the Great Hall. Right from the start LJ knew the style she wanted their day to have and had a very distinctive and vibrant colour scheme in mind of blue and pink with a hint of white (and might I just add that she was a lovely bride to work with). The hall was filled with rows of beautiful Italian Chiavari chairs with which we incorporated some flowery magic too with chair end designs made up of blue hydrangea’s aqua pink roses and white Lisianthus in keeping with the colour theme, LJ loved them so much that they arranged to have them moved to the top table for the dinner reception that was held in the marquee!

The arrangements were tied to the chairs using blue satin ribbon as a pretty finishing touch. The mantle piece was dressed with a long trailing arrangement made up of the same flowers and either side were two taller vases of blue Delphinium, pink Delphinium and pink Calla Lilies.

The wedding dinner was held in Fulham Palace’s marque and it looked stunning! Hanging from the ceiling were pretty paper lanterns in shades of turquoise, blue, cerise pink and powder pink and the tables were matched with the same colour table linens.

The centre pieces were made up of round vases to echo the shape of the lanterns and made up of blue Hydrangea, pink Roses and white Phlox to match the colour theme and table linens.

The bridesmaid bouquets were made up of aqua roses, blue cornflowers and white sweet peas (which smelt divine!) If possible I always like to include at least one scented flower in the bride and bridesmaids bouquets as its nice to have something that gives of a lovely scent when holding the bouquet throughout the day.

LJ’s bridal bouquet also incorporated the pink, blue and pink theme with aqua pink roses, blue hydrangea, white sweet peas and blue cornflower as well as rosemary. Her bouquet was finished with a blue satin ribbon and gorgeous tear drop shaped pearl pins.
